Opening Tomorrow!

The exhibition is around the corner. Literally. With the doors opening to the public tomorrow morning, (un)veiled will be highlighting the horrors and impact trafficking has on its victims.

Being in The Dolphin Shopping Centre has been quite an interesting experience when setting up! People peering through the windows, youths on Easter holidays congregating (as they do) outside the doors and questions being fired at us through the shop shutters has meant that this exhibition has effectively already been going for 3 days. Lets hope those inquisitive shoppers come back to experience (un)veiled on the other side of the glass tomorrow onwards!

We shall be looking forward to seeing you at The Dolphin Centre!

(un)veiled Artist Meeting, 1st April 2010

Yesterday we had our first full artist meeting, at the wonderful exhibition venue in The Dolphin Centre Poole. Looking around the space and bouncing ideas off each other was such a great way to become fully immersed in the artistic side of (un)veiled. The individual peices from the (un)veiled artists alone are fantastic but the plan for the group installation, I think, will be the most hard hitting and stirring part of the exhibition. It really is a reminder of why we are doing this… Not just to shock people but to instead stir them into action through an emotional experience.

Stag Weekends: The Dirty Secrets

The BBC recently screened an interesting and eye-opening documentary about stag weekends, sex-trafficking and the sex industry by Simon Boazman entitled Stag Weekends: The Dirty Secrets. It is described as:

“An investigation into the dark consequences of British stag parties travelling to Europe’s sex tourism hot-spots. Reporter Simon Boazman goes undercover to break into a sex trafficking ring and finds the women who have fallen victim to the trade in sex slaves.”

You can watch it on BBC iPlayer here, until Thursday 21st January 2010.
